Patient Service Representative Essential Job Duties:

  • Strong phone presence and customer service skills.
  • Perform patient intake and scheduling tasks.
  • Obtain patient demographics, insurance details, etc. and enter them accurately into EMR system.
  • Answers patient questions, inquiries, and concerns regarding their accounts.
  • Assists with answering telephone, screening calls, and taking messages.
  • Complete insurance verification and authorizations for studies timely and accurately.
  • Ensure insurance coverage meets necessary requirements.
  • Scheduling patients sleep studies
  • Communicate with referral sources to obtain additional information needed for scheduling and/or update on status of patient scheduling
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Work Hours: Normal office hours

Educational Requirements: High school graduate. Some college preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Healthcare customer service and insurance verification.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Strong data entry experience.
  • Work on many projects simultaneously.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize multiple jobs and inquiries.
  • Able to recognize and direct information to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Good computer skills.

 Physical Requirements for the job:

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to use his/her hands to operate office equipment.
